Arshak Gasparyan

Biography

“Arshak Gasparyan has over 20 years of field and policy work in Criminal Justice, Penal Reforms, & Justice for Children. Since 2022, Arshak has been working as Consultant on Prison Reforms and Team Lead at the The Ministry of Justice of Armenia where he does strategic consulting of National and Foreign Governments to Prison and Probation Reforms, advocating alternatives to imprisonment and detention. Since 2022, he has also been Project Manager in Justice Reforms Monitoring in Armenia for Social Justice which is funded by the EU. He is currently a Consultant for Prison and Probation Reforms for the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC). Previous to his current positions, Arshak worked with the Council of Europe in Montenegro, Armenia and Georgia as well as the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, UNICEF Juvenile Justice Reforms in Uzbekistan, State Department’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau etc. Arshak is currently a PhD candidate for Psychology from Yerevan State University. He holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Yerevan State.”
