Update Report: Armenian Hostages, Cultural Erasure, and
Territorial Integrity of the Republic of Armenia (2021–2026)

This document serves as an update and status report from the Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJ), an organization dedicated to the diligent collection of testimonial evidence regarding war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Azerbaijan against Armenians since the launch of the 2020 war against Nagorno-Karabakh.

Drawing upon this meticulously gathered evidence, CFTJ’s current focus is directed at three critical, ongoing issues:

  • The Status of Armenian Prisoners of War (POWs) and Hostages: Addressing the plight of those still held captive in Azerbaijan;
  • The Destruction of Armenian Cultural Heritage: Documenting the systematic erasure of sites within territories now under Azerbaijani control; and
  • The Occupation of Sovereign Armenia: Monitoring the continued incursion and military presence of Azerbaijan within the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia.

While CFTJ unequivocally supports peace between the two nations, it maintains the firm belief that a sustainable, durable peace is inextricably linked to the continued pursuit of justice. This necessitates amplifying victims’ voices and seeking accountability for all atrocities.
